How Much Money Can You Make With Ten Thousand Blog Posts?

A few of the numbers that I have been and will be writing about on future blog posts are ones that I have coveted for quite some time now, but that have been just shy of my grasp for what feels like nearly a decade now. I have always had this dream, call it a dream, a goal, or a lofty ambition, to have a website that has 500, or 1000, or 10,000 blog posts, and that generates like 100,000 or 250,000, or 500,000, or 1,000,000 pageviews per month, and that generates me $1,000 per day, money and revenue that I fully control in my pocket. To me, this website is not only something that I really enjoy doing as a hobby, it is a shot at what feels like freedom, in some ways, it represents my life’s work up to this point, and I have no intention, really, of ever stopping.

I am getting close to this being the furthest that I have gone with a website before, with my record number of blog posts on a website once hitting 550 blog posts before I sold it to go back to college and get a 9 to 5 job (boo I know…but it worked out in an extremely good way based on the spot I am at currently.) And so, I’ll tell you that this blog post represents the 372nd blog post that I am writing on this website, it is rare for me to hit 400 posts on a website, and has only happened one other time before. My goal is 1,000 blog posts by the end of this year, and while it didn’t happen in 2021 like my goal had it, in 2022, I will succeed in this goal even if I have to pay for it! In this blog post, lets look at how much money can you make with ten thousand blog posts, 5,000 blog posts, or even just 1000 or 500 blog posts of differing quality. How Much Money Can You Make With 500 Blog Posts?

At least with my own personal brand of blogging, the amount of money I make each month from this website is about 75 cents per month, for each blog post that I have on the website. This is not a hard and fast rule, it’s just sort of how it is panning out on this website, I’ll give you an example to explain this further. I have about 370 blog posts on this website, and it would make, I believe, $200 to $300 per month if I added advertisements and affiliate links to it (next year baby! Woo Monetization!) That is about 75 cents per blog post. The trend typically with internet marketing, and with any saleable business that is, is that this number will increase at scale, as I have seen this time and time again in different business models, your reward for growth is the ability to grow more, as is the law of nature.

With this in mind, lets say that I get to $1 per month, per blog post. At 500 blog posts, we are looking at $500 per month. The math works technically as well, say 500 blog posts is around 500 hits per day, or 16,000 hits per month. With ads, this is around $100 per month, and with affiliate links, this works out to around 15,000*.03 (CTR) * .03 (sale conversion rate) for about 14 sales per month. At around ten dollars per sale, you are looking at $140 per month extra. This is around $250 per month not including the ability for digital products, or the ability for an email list.

How Much Money Can You Make with 1,000 Blog Posts?

With 1,000 blog posts, which has really been sort of my short term coveted number for quite some time now (I think it would be really cool to have this number of blog posts, a 4 figure amount of content would definitely make things interesting in terms of revenue, traffic, and really just making the website cooler to look at. At this point, your website is approaching the level of a real business, and you are probably getting something like 50,000 per month from this website, in terms of traffic that is. This is around 1300 hits per day, it looks awesome to get this much traffic, and by the way congratulations on making it to this point, this is something that very few bloggers ever do, and just with your sheer force of will and persistence, you were able to likely build a website that is seen by 1,000 new people each day, for nearly a half million fresh visitors each year, not a bad run at all! You can make as much as $1,000 to $2,000 per month just with affiliate/ads on a website like this, which you can sell for as much as $50,000 cash if yo are interested in going that route as well.

How Much Money Can You Make With 5,000 Blog Posts?

Elon Musk has a saying about putting all your eggs in one basket that basically says “you can put all your eggs in one basket, just make sure that you really WATCH that basket closely!” This is contradictory to the old fable of don’t put all your eggs in one basket, which is speaking of diversification of your funds, your resources, your savings, your goals etc. The problem with this is that you never really go ALL IN on any one particular thing with this, which is needed in order to really scale to extreme levels of wealth and success. This is why you will rarely see a website with 5,000 blog posts on it, good or mediocre in terms of their content quality, this is just so much content that niche bloggers find it better to I guess diversify. Either that or they get bored and decide to run other new websites for fun. For my part at least, I would say that if I even hit the 1,000 mark on a website, that I will push onward to 10,000 and even 20,000 blog posts, even if it costs some green backs to get there. This would give such an amazing level of revenue, traffic, and a huge selling price, that it would be very much worth it indeed. Again, freedom is the name of the game, and you get freedom at scale!

How Much Money Can You Make With Ten Thousand Blog Posts

And now the holy grail, what you can make with ten thousand blog posts. If I had to wager a guess of what the average person making a blog with 10,000 posts would get in terms of revenue or for a selling price, here are the numbers.

A dedicated blogger could pull this off in 10 years by hand, or 3-4 years if they reinvest their profits.

10,000 blog posts, at least with how this site is ranking so far, would give me something like 10,000 to 15,000 hits per day, for 300,000 to 500,000 pageviews per month. This is a massive amount of traffic, and congratulations if you can make it this far by any means, as you are now an authority website in your niche, and you are likely making something like $5,000 per month in affiliate links, $5,000 to $10,000 per month in ads, $5,000 per month off of your email list, and add in another 5 or 10 ball if you plan on using e-commerce products with the website as well.

Assuming this is going to get you at worst $12,000 per month as a worst case scenario conservative estimate (really $15,000 to $20,000 per month is much more likely at this stage) you should be able to sell this website for something like $350,000 to $400,000 lump sum, pretty quickly. Congratulations, your dedication has bought you a fully paid for house, plus the years of revenue from building up the site, you could easily have generated $1,000,000.00 in revenue off of the website at this point for something you built by hand, and that’s pretty darn cool. Like my partner once said, SEO is magic!

Final Thoughts on How Much Money Can You Make With Ten Thousand Blog Posts? My Diagnosis Says About $5,000 to $7,000 Per Month With a Website Like This

There’s my 2 cents on how much money you can make with ten thousand blog posts. $5,000 to $20,000 per month is I would say the profit range with something like this, with really $10,000 to $12,000 per month being your most realistic figure here. You can try and keep this as a lifetime six figure income, or put a few hundred thousand dollars in the bank (dividends are like 3% so if you opt for the $400,000 option you’re still looking at like $1,000 per month in income also), either way, building affiliate websites can make you very rich if you do it correctly, if you do clean SEO, and if you stick with it for a long enough period of time. People will tell you that blogging is something for the misfits, for those who can’t find a better career, but I will tell you it is an awesome, algorithmic and persistence based career that can change your life as you get it, never give up because I know I won’t.
