What It Takes to Make A Profitable Affiliate Business – My Take

I am at a family Christmas outing currently that is at something of a slow period right now, and so I’ve decided to upload a new blog post regarding some insight that I have just had on affiliate marketing. The insight that I have just had is that it is going to take a LONG time, but that it is absolutely doable, I looked at one of my favorite mentors and his oldest affiliate website, deadbeatsuperaffiliate.com, and realized that the domain has been up for ELEVEN YEARS! I also realized, from watching all of his Youtube videos, that not only does he have a lot of different affiliate websites, Youtube channels and social media traffic funnels (to the tune of 100 or so websites each making him money each month) but also that most of these websites are very OLD, and that these old websites tend to do very very well over time. And so, in this blog post, I’ll tell you about some of the cool things that I have learned about affiliate marketing, and the best way to make this a sustainable, long term business going forward.

What It Takes to Make a Profitable Affiliate BusinessStrategies I will go over include:

Letting your websites run for a long time

Using old websites to make a lot of money

Using Clean SEO Strategies that last over the long term

Different Niche Markets

Utilizing Youtube for SEO and for Profits

Linking Youtube Channels with Affiliate Websites

Having a Lot of Different Affiliate Websites

Here’s What It Takes to Make a Profitable Affiliate Business, Time, Effort, And A Lot of Websites

Time, Money, Effort, A lot of blog posts, and I am now convinced that it will take a lot of websites as well. One of the things that I have noticed as far as building up affiliate websites that generate income, is that once you hit a certain level of traffic on your website, and for me with this website it is 10,000 views per month, that it starts to Plateau, due to the fluctuations in existing keywords that we have in the Search Engines. So on this website, I have something like 4,000 keywords ranking in the SERPs. These are constantly moving around and changing position day after day, and so even as I am scaling the content on this blog, moving from 400 to 500 and even 600 or 1,000 blog posts, what I find is that it is really hard to grow your traffic past this point.

Change it up to my Michonneandrick.com Walking Dead affiliate website however, and what we can find is that since I am only getting 100 or so visitors per month, is that if I go from 30 to 100 or 200 blog posts, that I can see as much as a 10x boost in my traffic in a relatively short period of time. These are extremely measurable gains, and since they are able to be measured, I’ll keep pushing and building more and more affiliate websites. This is my new strategy going forward, as I think that it is a truly powerful way to both scale up and diversify your affiliate income. You also have the option of selling a website and keeping your existing business flowing as you use your newfound profits.

I have also realized that making a profitable affiliate business that lasts for a long time is extremely difficult, and that it takes willingness to continue educating yourself, that it takes a lot of persistence, and that it is really hard to build and sustain momentum with it. In ten years however, I feel pretty confident that I can have a portfolio of 50 or so websites each making between $200 ad $500 per month, for what could hopefully be $16,000 to $20,000 per month or more in sustainable affiliate income. Add in dividends, the ability to sell the websites, and a current job in wealth management, as well as investment appreciation to this, and I should be a millionaire if I can pull this off.
