You may have heard that Blogger is not a great platform for SEO. And it’s true… to an extent. Blogger does have some limitations when it comes to SEO. Is It Possible to Rank With Blogger? Yes But Barely

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t still rank for certain keywords with blogspot domains. I have some blogspot domains that are aged, with hundreds of articles on them, that still get regular traffic to this day. For instance, my favorite one is Blueeyesshiningdragons.blogspot.com, a blogger blog that I helped develop nearly 3 years ago. Just how long it has aged has it ranking for certain keywords, and with the blogspot domain actually being sold to my partner for around $1,000.00, it has done plenty for a simple blogger domain.

You can absolutely rank with blogspot. It just takes a little more time and effort.

If you want to rank with blogger, here are some things that you can do:

1. Write articles that are at least 1,000 words in length. This is going to be a big factor in ranking, as Google does favor longer articles. You could even go beyond 1,000 words for an extra SEO push.

2. Do your research on keywords. Make sure that you’re targeting keywords that have low competition and are relevant to your niche. You can use a tool like Google Keyword Planner to help with this.

3. Optimize your titles and descriptions. Even though you can’t customize them as much as you can on WordPress, with Blogger.com or WordPress.com, you can get close with a little HTML creativity.

Is It Harder to Rank With Blogger than WordPress?

To be 100% honest with you, no… yes it is harder to rank with blogger than WordPress. It may take a little more time and effort, but if you’re willing to put in the work, you can see some great results with blogspot domain blogs.

If you really want to make money online however, don’t put all your effort into web 2.0 domains, there is really no substitute for your own .com domain and for the wordpress.org software, nuff said!
