How Much Money Did Jesus Have? What His Salary As a Carpenter Likely Was

How much money did Jesus Have? And why do I say that Jesus likely made a salary of somewhere in the range of $30,000 per year as a carpenter. Given the historical and Biblical notes that we have at our disposal, I would say that this is a fairly accurate estimate. Ignoring the fact that at Jesus birth, the gifts of Frankincense, Mir and Gold, all were likely worth a lot of money, as a carpenter trained by Joseph, Jesus actually probably made the equivalent of $20 to $30 per hour in today’s money, earning in the range of $30,000 to $50,000 USD per year, depending on what stage of his career he was in. From here, it sounds like much of his practice was provided for via donations from the public (essentially church donations) which would’ve had them all living on something like minimum wage. And so, in this article, let’s look at the question of how much money did Jesus have, how much money he likely would’ve been making on an annual basis, and other biblical stories of money. How Much Money Did Jesus Have? Net Worth $5,000, Annual Income, $12,000 to $30,000 Per Year

I’ll walk you through how I am getting these numbers. First off, I would say that since they didn’t exactly have savings accounts back then, and since Jesus was really only making a modest income, yet he was not starving due to donations etc. that $5,000 is likely a generous and fairly accurate savings account number for him (adjusted backwards for inflation of course, back in the year 0 or 3). I am getting his income number off of the average salary of a carpenter, which was likely around the level of $10 to $20 per hour depending on career experience. Call it $30,000 per year for this.

How Much Money Jesus Likely Could Have Made Under Different Circumstances

Obviously given the immense network, skillset and power he had, he likely could have been a modern day millionaire or billionaire had he focused his efforts on something different. However I don’t think anyone can say he necessarily made an incorrect decision here, as he came into the possession of a power far greater than money through his works and goodwill of his father. I guess there really are certain things more important than money, go figure.

Final Thoughts On How Much Money Did Jesus Have? My Thoughts And Opinions On This Subject

And that’s the gist of how much money Jesus had, how much money he made, and what I would say the Biblically accurate finances of Jesus were. Kind of a different blog post than what we usually chat about on this website, but I thought I would trial it in the search engines.
